The narrow aisle rack is an upgraded version of the pallet rack. The obvious difference between them is that the aisle for forklifts in the narrow aisle rack is about half as narrow as that in the pallet rack. In a warehouse of the same area, the storage capacity of the narrow aisle rack is higher than that of the pallet rack. So, is the narrow aisle rack suitable for a warehouse with a height of 6 meters? The pallet rack company explains.

The reason why the narrow aisle forklift has a narrow aisle is that it uses narrow aisle forklifts (also called three-way forklifts) for loading and unloading goods. This type of forklift requires a channel between 1.6 and 2 meters, but its cost is also higher than that of the forklifts used in the pallet rack. Therefore, including the forklifts for loading and unloading goods, the cost of the narrow aisle rack project is higher than that of the pallet rack project. If the shelf height design is lower, the price per pallet position will be higher on average.

To achieve better cost-effectiveness, it is recommended to use the narrow aisle rack for warehouses with a height of 10 meters or above. For warehouses with a height of 6 meters, which is relatively low, the cost-effectiveness of the narrow aisle rack is relatively lower. Of course, this does not apply if you have no financial constraints. For a warehouse with a height of 6 meters where goods require 100% free picking, the pallet rack is more suitable. If free picking is not required, you can consider using push-in racks, double-depth racks, or roller racks, etc. The pallet rack company can design and quote the plan based on your needs for free.
